This bridge is named Pont d'Lena, after Napoleonic victory in 1806. The sides are decorated with Napoleonic eagles. The bridge was renamed and the eagles were removed during the siege of Paris. Louis Philip reinstated the bridge original name and eagle sculptures during his reign.
I heard on the either side of the park is where some of Paris' most expensive housing can be found. I took a snap shot of a building nearby and took this photos of the pricing sheet for the houses this real estate office has for sale. Boy, they are expensive!
This park was originally a parade ground for the military academy. On another end of it is Ecole Militaire which has one of the finest 18th century facades in Paris. The academy was founded to enable young men from impoverished noble families to become qualified officers. One of the most famous of these young men was Napoleon.
