After visiting some of the stores on Champs Elysees, I continued walking toward the Arc. Here is more info about the history of it. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arc_de_Triomphe
I ran into Nelson who is from Miami, Florida. We both felt relieved finding an English speaking person and we chatted for good 15 minutes. I felt home right there. Haha. He came through Madrid, Spain, and has been traveling to Italy, Rome, Vienna, Germany, Holland, France and other countries with his Euro pass. He said Paris was his last stop before he headed home. We were talking about how much we missed our own comfortable beds and pillows at home. Haha. We helped each other take a photo in front of the Arc before we departed.
After the photo was taken, I turned around and was ready to head back to the Metro station. I was stunned by the view of the street. I basically stood there for 3 minutes, tried to memorize this moment and soak in this beautiful and culture-rich city. I am amazed by its architectural designs and details. The photo below doesn’t do any justice of this city. I am falling in love with it.
